High level dialogue

Cairo, 28 September 2015 | 8.30 am - 6.00 pm
Marriott Hotel | 16 Saraya El Gezira, Zamalek District, 11211 - Cairo | Egypt

RES4MED is pleased to invite you to the one-day International Workshop that will be held in Egypt on September 28th with the aim of fostering a high-level dialogue between key stakeholders, agencies, energy companies, financial institutions, investors, industrial players, technology providers and universities, to generate a deeper understanding of local needs, strengthening public-private partnership.

Egypt has set quantitative renewable energy targets and consistent mechanisms (FiT program, BOO competitive bidding, merchant scheme, EPC model), driven by the need to ensure and diversify electricity supply to a fast increasing population, by the potential for job creation and industrial development, acknowledging the fast technology advancements towards cost-effective solutions.

The ambitious plan to generate 20% of the country's electricity from renewable sources by 2020, including a 12% contribution from wind energy will be able to attract more than $10 billion investments in wind and solar power plants within 2020.
