Renewables Energy Solutions for the Mediterranean (RES4MED) is a network of international leaders, already engaged in promoting their core business in the SEMCs with a common mission to accelerate the deployment of renewables and energy efficiency solutions and their integration in the local and regional markets.
Société d'Investissements Energétiques (SIE) represents the financial arm of the State for the execution of the energy mix by 2020. It operates both in investment and in the development of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency.
SIE's role is to promote the development of new energy sectors through investment and project development in Morocco.
As a result, SIE is entrusted with the development of the medium voltage sector mainly via photovoltaics, or energy efficiency with respect to public lighting, for example.
RES4MED Day is one day local workshop titled "Morocco and Italy for the transition to clean energy towards Africa"
The workshop will foster dialogue between key local Moroccan stakeholders (government, agencies, energy companies, financial institutions, industrial players, universities) and RES4MED members, to generate a deeper understanding of local needs and a set of complementary and additional solutions to match them.
Among the local stakeholders to be involved: Moroccan Agency For Solar Energy (MASEN), National Office of Electricity (ONEE), Societè d’Investissements Energetiques (SIE), Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment (MEMEE), Agency of Development for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ADEREE), Ministry for Economic and General Affairs (MAEG), Moroccan Investment Development Agency (AMDI), Institut de Recherche en Energie Solaire et Energies Nouvelles (IRESEN), NAREVA and OCP
- Local RES market analysis and insights;
- Proposal of sustainable solutions to meet energy local needs, additional and complementary to large scale power plants;
- Moving towards a real cooperation network
