Advanced Training Course 2015
Description of the course
Renewable Energy Solutions for the Mediterranean (RES4MED), in partnership with Enel Foundation, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, under the patronage of the Union for the Mediterranean, annually organizes the two weeks Advanced Training Course (ATC) “Integration of renewable energy solutions in the Mediterranean electricity markets”.
The training aims at providing participants with a set of technical, economical and regulatory tools to assess the most appropriate solutions in different energy contexts for an efficient and effective integration of renewables in the electricity market, while favoring the setting up of an international network of experts.
The course is addressed primarily to middle managers with an appropriate seniority, selected among public institutions, energy companies, energy centers, universities and research agencies operating in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries (SEMC). The aim is to provide a balanced composition from the different players in the energy sector of each country to stimulate an effective debate.
The course is held in English in Milan, at the Department of Energy, Bovisa Campus, Politecnico di Milano, with site visits hosted by RES4MED members. As for the 2014 edition, the 2015 course (23rd November – 4th December) will gather more than fifty participants from the SEMC, in particular Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey, Ph.D. students and researchers from Italian universities, and professionals from RES4MED shareholders.
The ATC encourages participants to explore multidisciplinary approaches covering technical, economic and regulatory issues integrating for each topic:
- the theoretical and academic session (ensured by Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, Bocconi University);
- the market perspective and industrial view (ensured by International lecturers, Enel Foundation and RES4MED members).
