RES4Africa part of the GWEC Africa Task Force

RES4Africa joined the Africa Task Force set up by the Global Wind Industry Council (GWEC) during the WindEurope Conference, held in Bilbao on 2-4 April.

The new Task Force was established to bring together leading developers, investors and manufacturers, alongside technical experts and intergovernmental organizations. The Task Force will operate on different levels, advising governments on regulatory frameworks and auction systems, developing holistic initiatives to accelerate private investment in the wind power sector, measuring the economic and social benefits of wind power in Africa, and so on.

The Africa Task Force comprises important players active in the African market, such as RES4Africa, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Vestas, and so on. The Task Force will be chaired by Jon Lezamiz Cortazar, African Market Development Director at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
