10 November – Rimini, Italy
RES4Africa in cooperation with Key Energy organized a conference titled “International Scenarios for Renewable Energies”, within the 21st edition of Ecomondo EXPO. Representatives of the private sector, institutions and NGOs met on November 10th in Rimini to discuss renewable energy transition, also in relation to Clean Energy and Energy Access, Sustainable Development Goal n°7 (SDG7). Among the speakers, representatives of Italgen, Enel Green Power, Althesys, ENEA, Santerno, Terna, Opes Fund, Agenzia Italiana Cooperazione Sviluppo e AVSI, contributed to the discussion sharing insights from their experience and know-how.
Considering the current economic and market trends, renewable energy is a facilitator of growth and development. As confirmed by Gianni Silvestrini, Scientific Director of Kyoto Club and QualEnergia and President of Exalto Energy@Innovation “Renewables are central to improve energy access and to fight global climate change. The potential for a renewable energy transition is within reach. What is needed is the acceleration of both large scale projects as well as the roll-out of decentralised mini-grid applications. In this context, Italian companies have an important role to play given their vast national and international experience by sharing and building on their know-how”.
